Navakaraṇa Vinyāsa Hṛdayam – The Essentials of Navakaraṇa Vinyāsa

These teacher trainings focus on how to practice and teach a collection of 12 series named Navakaraṇa Vinyāsa Mālā. The syllabus is structured in 4 distinct modules.
Each module of 108 hours consist of:
– an in-depth study
– practice
– teaching skills of three series.

The full syllabus of 12 series is covered in 4 modules (432 hours).

Syllabus

Theories:

• Sanskrit phonetic and terminology
• Viniyoga and karaṇa
• Nine primary units of movements (nava-karaṇa)
• Nine types of composition (nava-vinyāsa)
• Essentials on how to create pre-sequences (upakrama) and sequences (krama)
• Distribution (vibhāga) and frame (tanu) of a sequence (krama)
• Essentials of Navakaraṇa methodology and teaching skills (śikṣā paddhati)

Practical:

• In-depth study and practice of Navakaraṇa Krama Mālā
  (Three series per module. Please refer to the charts)
• Alignment, adjustments and assisted stretch
• Teaching practice
